Martinsound Introduces MultiMAX EXR Multiformat Monitor Controller
Offers all the features and functionality of MultiMAX EX at a cost-effective price

ALHAMBRA, CA - October 5, 2002 - At the 113th AES Convention(October 5-8, 2002), Martinsound introduced MultiMAX EXR, a cost-effective version of the popular multiformat monitor controller and a key component for facilities making the transition to surround sound. Martinsound has achieved a cost savings to customers by centralizing all control functions on the full-featured remote controller that is included with MultiMAX EXR as standard.

MultiMAX EXR offers all the features and functionality of MultiMAX EX, such as management of multiple loudspeaker systems, including a main system of up to 8 speakers, encoder/decoder monitoring and downmixing. MultiMAX EXR augments the monitor section of existing stereo mixing systems in any music production, post production, broadcast or authoring environment, adding the facilities necessary to handle complex surround sound mixes with only a modest financial outlay.

Like MultiMAX EX, MultiMAX EXR offers precise level control of multiple speaker systems, with solo, mute and dim control, and handles a main surround monitor system of up to eight speakers, configured as three or five front channels with two, three or four surround channels. MultiMAX EXR incorporates a pink noise generator and individual level trims for easy calibration of the speaker systems. In any production environment, patching MultiMAX EXR into the console or workstation as the project demands becomes a very quick and simple matter, thanks to the remote's easy-to-read LCD and user friendly system calibration menus.

Martinsound's MAX product range extends the productive life of any studio's equipment, maximizing the facility's investment and allowing studio owners to attract more diverse business. MAX monitor products may be added singly or in any combination to existing stereo consoles and digital audio workstations to extend their capabilities through the addition of multichannel and multiformat functionality.

In addition to the MultiMAX EX and EXR Multiformat Monitor Controllers, the MAX product range includes the PanMAX Automated Surround Panner, ForMAX Surround Monitoring Formatter, MonitorMAX Stereo Monitor Controller, RecordistMAX Machine Room Monitor Controller and VU Metering Package. Martinsound's range of cost-effective TMH Qualified MAX products, produced in conjunction with Tomlinson Holman and the TMH Corporation, include ManagerMAX Surround 5.1 Bass Management, BalancerMAX Surround 5.1 Systems Interface, MicroPannerMAX Surround 5.0 Panner, and FilterMAX Surround LFE Filter, plus CheckMAX Surround Alignment and Diagnostic Tapes.
