Martinsound Adds VuMAX Meter Display to Surround Monitor Product Range

Alhambra, Cal.--Martinsound, Inc. is expanding its family of surround monitor control products with the addition of the VuMAX meter display. VuMAX provides an off-the-shelf metering solution that, when combined with Martinsound's MultiMAX EX multiformat monitor controller and ForMAX surround formatter, will augment any stereo console to add comprehensive surround monitoring, metering and film-style mixing functionality in all production formats.

VuMAX houses eight precision VU meters, lights and buffering circuitry, and requires 4U of rack space. It may be easily connected to MultiMAX EX and ForMAX to provide a visual indication of monitor source levels.

MultiMAX EX's eight meter outputs automatically follow the Monitor Source selection, allowing the user to check the mix of the selected Wide Inputs and the results of downmixing, recorder returns, encoder outputs (including Lt Rt) and the mixing console. MultiMAX EX provides extensive monitoring facilities for any surround format of up to eight channels, controls multiple speaker systems, facilitates downmix compatibility and quality checks, and includes bass redirection and system calibration tools.

ForMAX is a programmable twenty-four input, eight output matrix, with twenty-four recorder return and twenty-four mix bus inputs, each with recorder/mix bus (PEC/Direct) selection. It provides three eight-channel meter outputs that follow the PEC/Direct switch selection to the reassign matrix. ForMAX stores and recalls many different routing and surround format setups, allowing the instant reset of recorder, console and monitor assignments, and facilitating fast and accurate changeovers between projects.
