Introduces Discount Price For Martech MSS-10 Mic Preamp Alhambra, Cal.--Martinsound, Inc. is announcing a special discount price for the popular Martech MSS-10 'Natural Sound' microphone preamplifier. The retail price has been reduced to $1,995. Joe Martinson, president of Martinsound, says, "The 'Natural Sound' of the MSS-10 goes far beyond the quality of tube and discrete units, introducing a new category of microphone preamplifier that is in a class by itself. We want more people to be able to experience 'Natural Sound' and are therefore very pleased that the higher than anticipated sales have allowed us to make the MSS-10 more affordable to customers." The MSS-10 comprises two stages of non-inverting amplification. The microphone preamplifier provides 20dB to 65dB of gain, switchable in precise 5dB steps. A 20dB pad, phase reverse (in fact, polarity reversal at the input XLR) and +48V phantom power switching is included. The secondary line driver offers additional level adjustment from ( to +10dB of gain. Its source may be selected from either the microphone preamplifier or a separate balanced line input. Mic/line and mute switches are provided. A CAL switch bypasses the line level control to provide a unity gain output. A professional, full-size VU meter indicates level at the line output. The MSS-10 earned its 'Natural Sound' description as a result of many months of evaluation and extensive listening tests down to component level, and has been designed to produce exceptional resolution and musicality. The input transformer and discrete transistor gain blocks were designed and custom-built when commercially available electronics failed to meet the rigorous standards required. Capacitors have been completely eliminated from the audio path, while custom private-label capacitors are used in other areas. The unique natural sound and sonic neutrality of the MSS-10 have made it a favorite of world class engineers and mixers such as Al Schmitt (Diana Krall, Vince Gill, Johnny Mathis), Bruce Botnick (Jerry Goldsmith, The Doors), Michael O'Reilly (Jewel), Andy Smith (Paul Simon, Bob Dylan) and Ricky Lawson (Kenny G, Steely Dan). Martinsound, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of specialized audio products for experts in the fields of music recording, broadcast and post production. Media contact:
